Yesterday in my weekly meeting I told my boss that I was pregnant. Once I
broke the news to him I told some of my co-workers today. I think they may have
been more excited than some of our family members! There were screams and
cheers everywhere! It's nice to let them in on it so I can finally talk about
it! Just waiting for Rob to tell some of his friends and then make a public
announcement to anyone else : )

Today was the big reveal! We stopped by my dad's house first. I didn't
think he would notice Kailey's shirt so we also brought along her Big Sister
book. I had her show him and he reads the title and looks at me and says,
"you're pregnant?" Yup. After some congratulations, we moved on to Rob's
family.
When we go to his aunt's house, we were bummed to see that his mom wasn't there. She was sick. Rob went into another room and called her and gave her the news. Kailey walked in with her big sister shirt on and no one noticed. We even sat through dinner and no one said a word. I told Rob that he was going to have to say something soon. So again, we brought out the book. Lori was trying to see it and says, "I'm a Big" and then stopped. Kailey turned and she couldn't read it. Later we had her show Jim. Jim read out loud, "I'm a Big Sister" and then moved on. He had no clue what he even said out loud. Rob and I just laughed. Finally I told Kailey to show Lori her new book and she reads it and looks at me like I am crazy. We all had a good laugh that we had been there for 2.5 hours and no one noticed!
I guaranteed Rob that it wouldn't take my family long at all. We came in and Kailey went right to the bedroom to play. Pam came in and asked to see her shirt but with all the toys in her hands, she couldn't read it. After about 10 minutes, Kailey went out to the living room and GiGi came in to say hi to her and says, "let me read your shirt." She had a hard time reading the Fairy Happy To Be so I read that and then she saw the bottom and her jaw kinda dropped. She was so excited so then everyone came over to see her shirt. Took my family a few minutes. At least we know who is more observant. : )

We finally got to share the news today! Casey and Maura won't be at Thanksgiving this year so on the way home from the circus, we stopped by to say "hi."
We visited for a little while and then I had Kailey give Casey her school picture, then she went to give him a picture that she had taken this summer, and then the ultra sound picture.
Congratulations were given and the news settled in. They couldn't believe that we haven't told mom yet. They just said she is going to die : )
It was so fun to surprise them and I can't wait to share the news on Thanksgiving! 4 more days!

I am back to 8 weeks pregnant. I had my check up today and Dr Fitzgibbon said just what the tech told me, the ultrasound read 9 weeks. I told her since we were trying and it was one of four days that we got pregnant - 9 weeks is just not possible. She said she was ok with putting me at 8 weeks since I knew.
Besides that, we just went over how I was feeling and that I need to do labs in the next 2 weeks. I decided just because I am older, I would do what they call now, the Harmony test. This is when they will test for Down Syndrome. The old test that doctors used to do was out phased 2 weeks ago. This new test will draw my blood and then pull the fetus cells from the blood. It's 99% accurate.
The doctor gave me a script for something to help my morning sickness so I am looking forward to filling that tonight! Besides those few things - I'll be back to see her in 4 weeks.

What an emotional day! I had to visit Kailey's Kindergarten for the Fall and then her IEP meeting. I can't believe she is going to be in Kindergarten! Then tonight we had our first ultrasound. We told Kailey that we had a surprise for her tonight so I think she was a little confused when we walked into a doctors office.
The ultrasound technician was great with Kailey. They had me lay down and put the gel on my belly. Kailey was next to me with the most curious look on her face. I told her that the lady was going to look in my belly. She went and sat by Rob and were watching the screen. I told the tech that she didn't know what was happening yet so she said she would keep quiet until she got all the pictures so we could tell her. She had a hard time getting a good picture at first and thought she may have to do an internal ultrasound. She said if that was the case, Kailey would have to leave but she was going to try her hardest so she could watch.
Kailey kept coming by me and kept me laughing. She kept touching my belly and looking at the gel. When the tech was all done, she turned the monitor. Rob came over and you could clearly see the little peanut. We asked Kailey if she could see the little peanut on the tv and the tech was pointing and we told her that mommy has a baby in her belly. I wish to God that I would have recorded her reaction! Her eyebrows crinkled in with so much confusion. Then Rob told her she was going to be a big sister and she smiled from ear to ear. The tech showed us the heartbeat on the monitor which was so cool since the baby is measuring 2.55cm. Kailey was laughing that I have a baby in my belly. We talked about how my belly is going to get real big how so the baby can grown. We gave her the picture to look at and she just smiled. By the time we got to the car, she was over it. LOL
I am measuring at 9 weeks. The doctor had figured 8 weeks. But since we were trying and we know the week we did get pregnant, that is really 7 weeks. I have an appointment in 2 days with the doctor so hopefully we can figure this out. My due date went from June 23 to June 15. Guess we wait and see!

Only 5 more days until our first ultrasound. I am so excited for Kailey to go and tell her that she is going to be a big sister. We bought her a few books about having a new baby in the house and a big sister shirt. We have been waiting to tell her because we are afraid she will start blabbing about mommy having a baby in her belly. And only 2 more weeks till we start telling people! First family at Thanksgiving, then close friends, work and then everyone else in our lives!
I'm still very nauseous and even more so in the past week or so. And the heartburn is a killer. I think I only had this with Kailey a few times later in my pregnancy but this started happening so early and we have a long way to go!
Everything is so different this time. Early guess - It's a boy.
